Some days unfold exactly as planned—but the best ones? They surprise you. I woke up expecting stormy skies and a rain-soaked walk to the marina, but instead, A Coruña greeted me with golden sunlight and the kind of morning that feels like a gift. A perfect cappuccino, a slow, meandering walk through the city’s charming streets, and an unexpected bakery find that completely redefined my love for baguettes.

And then, there was SV Tavaha—waiting for me at the dock, along with two furry first mates. Storm, the bold and curious boat cat, welcomed me instantly, while Mirabelle remained a mystery… until dinner time, of course.

Settling in wasn’t just about unpacking—it was about opening all the hatches, letting in the salty sea air, and restoring a sense of calm to the boat after days of rough weather. By sunset, Tavaha felt like home.

Three and a half weeks aboard, and this was just the beginning.
